Jersey City Medical Center’s Board Chair, Carlos LejnieksJersey City Medical Center’s Board Chair, Carlos Lejnieks, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Essex, Hudson and Union Counties, joined the Raising the Bar’s panel of C-suite thought leaders on the topic of strategic planning and equity on September 29. Raising the Bar is supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and has led extensive discussions with providers, hospitals, payers, community leaders, and patients about how health care can help achieve optimal well-being for all. The panel discussed what it looks like to put an equity strategy into practice, tactics for measuring equity, establishing accountability standards, and integrating Raising the Bar principles into organizational strategies. The panel also included leaders from Trinity Health, Trust for America’s Health, and the National Association of Community Health Centers, and was moderated by Ruth Shim, MD, MPH, member of the Board of Trustees at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
