Aug 22, 2022 Jersey City Medical Center Unveils Newly Expanded Emergency Department

On July 26, 2022, Jersey City Medical Center unveiled its new state-of-the-art Emergency Department, a $100-million and 60,000 square feet expansion, during a special event and ribbon-cutting ceremony that was attended by RWJBarnabas Health leadership, JCMC leadership and staff, elected officials, as well as hospital partners and community members. In addition to the increased footprint, modern technology and design of the new ED, the Abercrombie Guild Pediatric Emergency Department was established, part of the Children’s Health Network of RWJBarnabas Health. The new Pediatric ED, which is separate from the Adult ED with its own entrance, was made possible through a generous multimillion-dollar gift from the Abercrombie Guild — its historic final donation as the entity ends its operations. Prior to the ribbon-cutting, a private reception was held to recognize the significant contribution and legacy of the Abercombie Guild.
