Dr. Carol Ash is RWJUH Rahway’s Chief Medical Officer.

Carol Ash, DO, RWJUH Rahway Hospital Chief Medical OfficerA graduate of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey School of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Ash is board certified in Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Pulmonary Medicine, and Sleep Medicine. She is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and in 2017 received Dartmouth College’s Master in Health Care Delivery Science (MHCDS) degree, which focuses on value-based improvement of health care delivery – achieving better outcomes for the same or lower costs – that is scientifically, ethically and managerially sound. She received an MBA from the University of Massachusetts Isenberg School of Management in 2014.

As a member of the leadership team, her lines of responsibility include clinical effectiveness, quality, medical management, case management and social services, regulations and accreditation, medical staff services, CME education, infection prevention, and risk management. Dr. Ash is the hospital’s first Chief Medical Officer. In that role, she will work with the clinical staff on quality improvement, patient safety and utilization.

Prior to joining RWJ Rahway, she was Staff Physician at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. From 2017, she was Director of the Intensive Care Unit at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton.
