Your Child Deserves to Look and Feel Their Best
The Pediatric Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Program offers a full range of treatments for acquired and congenital problems that require therapeutic or cosmetic reconstruction. We treat conditions such as microtia, a congenital deformation of the ear; cleft lip and palate; and gynecomastia, or enlarged breast tissue in boys, as well as trauma-related repair.
Treatment at Our Award-Winning Children's Hospital
Our program is located in The Bristol-Myers Squibb Children's Hospital (BMSCH), our dedicated children's facility at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) New Brunswick. BMSCH was named one of the best children’s hospitals in the United States by U.S. News & World Report.
Our dedicated Pediatric Trauma Center was verified by the American College of Surgeons (ACS), a distinction awarded to institutions that exhibit excellence in surgical care. If your child experiences trauma and comes to the Pediatric Emergency Department, our team will be there to care for your family.
At RWJUH, our surgeons are trained in the latest surgical procedures to provide the best results for your child. As faculty members at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, they teach and mentor the next generation of pediatric plastic surgeons.
Family-Centered Care
Our warm, family-centered approach and kid-friendly settings help ease children's fears. We understand that keeping family close by is essential to your child’s well-being and recovery.
Multidisciplinary Team Approach
Plastic and reconstructive surgery often treats conditions related to other specialties, and our multidisciplinary team approach ensures that our work is well integrated into a child's care. We work hand-in-hand with other specialties at BMSCH including pediatric surgery, otolaryngology (ear, nose, and throat), dermatology, anesthesiology, endocrinology, neurosurgery, oncology, orthopedics, and urology.
