Nursing

The Medical Center's Department of Nursing exists to provide quality nursing care to all patients 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Each nursing unit is staffed with professional registered nurses who assess individual patient needs and plan nursing care from admission to discharge.

Licensed practical nurses also provide skilled nursing care and help make hospitalization as comfortable as possible.

Nurses also serve as patient advocates and engage in collaborative practice with physicians and members of many other health care disciplines. Nurse specialists with advanced education are available to provide additional health education and counseling to patients and their families.
