The Chinese Medical Program at Monmouth Medical Center and Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus was established in November 2010 to enhance access to effective, cost-efficient, high quality health care for Chinese Americans.

We are committed to serving the needs of our patients and have helped people from all across the state of New Jersey navigate the health care system and receive the care they need.

Our bilingual Chinese staff members are fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, Toishanese, and other Chinese dialects. We help patients find doctors, make appointments, arrange round-trip transportation, fill out medical forms, and even accompany patients to their appointments and provide interpretation services, if needed.

Our goal is to ensure that all patients get the care and services they need, with easy access to high quality inpatient and outpatient services, as well as free screenings, community education and low-cost preventive programs.

We work with Chinese patients on an individual basis to help bridge cultural or language barriers that may exist to care, and we help them navigate the health care system to ensure that quality preventive health services and necessary medical treatments are readily available and more easily accessible.

We believe that enhancing health care communication is an essential part of providing quality health care.

The Chinese Medical Program offers:

  • A highly competent bilingual Chinese-speaking staff that understands your language and culture and can help you access the health and medical care services you want and need.
  • One-stop service: With one phone call our staff can help you navigate the health care system. We assess your needs, make appointments, arrange round-trip transportation, assist with patient forms, accompany you to treatments and provide interpretation, if needed.
  • Communication with your referring physician to keep him or her apprised of your medical care and any treatment that you undergo to enhance the continuum of your care.
  • Physician liaisons that can help coordinate in-hospital care and services.
  • Translation and interpretation services for Chinese patients who are admitted to the hospital.
  • Timely referrals and appointments for doctors and specialists, outpatient services, and additional tests and treatments that patients might need.
  • Personalized case management services that help take the stress and anxiety out of managing medical care so patients can concentrate on achieving and maintaining good health.
