Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Children’s Specialized Hospital! We accept applications and place volunteers on an ongoing basis throughout the year. You must be 15 years of age to apply.

You must complete the following requirements before being placed as a volunteer:

  • Application – if you are under 18 years of age, a parent/guardian must sign your application.

  • Two (2) References – by people who have known you for at least one year.

  • Interview - with a member of the volunteer staff.

  • Medical Requirements – A medical form must be completed and signed by a physician.

  • Drug Screening - You must complete a drug screening test – this must be performed at our facility at no cost to you.

  • Background Check - Complete background check release forms – if you are 18 years or older. You will need to provide your social security number.

Following receipt of your application and two reference forms, you will be contacted for an interview for placement. Interviews are held on an ongoing basis with dates scheduled by location. You will receive an invitation to interview by email when an interview session is established for your Children’s Specialized Hospital location of choice.

When you have completed the above-referenced requirements, you will be eligible for placement and we will contact you as volunteer positions/special events become available.

  • “I’ve helped my buddy go from swimming with a noodle to swimming by themselves and it’s a really great feeling to be able to make some sort of difference on a child’s life and help them be able to swim,” remarked Emma.
