Add some flavor to your next Meatless Monday!


  • ¾ cup canned low sodium chickpeas, drained
  • ¼ cup canned brown lentils, drained
  • ¼ cup whole wheat breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 garlic clove
  • ½ small yellow onion, chopped
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon ground pepper
  • Cooking spray


  1. Prepare your ingredients – drain and rinse chickpeas and lentils. Chop cilantro and yellow onion.
  2. Place all ingredients in a food processor and blend to a smooth consistency.
  3. Remove the blade from the food processor carefully. Roll the mixture into three balls and flatten into patties.
  4. In a medium pan, spray cooking spray and raise to medium heat. Once the pan is hot, cook patties for 2–3 minutes on each side or until lightly golden brown.
  5. Serve with sweet potato and side salad to make a complete meal. Top patties with plain non-fat Greek yogurt for a sauce.
