Awards and Recognition

There are multiple ways RWJ Rahway rewards and recognizes our nurses.

Several awards are peer and staff nominated for creating and developing processes for best health outcomes for our patients through evidence-based research, identifying and collaborating for ideas to be a high reliability organization, and fostering a healthy work environment for each other.

We encourage, recognize, and celebrate our nurses’ achievements of professional growth through higher learning, national certifications, clinical ladder, publications, and volunteering for community wellness events and education.

Other awards and recognition are through the valued input from our patients, families, and community.

The Daisy Award Logo

The DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune System) Award is an ongoing recognition program that honors and celebrates the skillful, compassionate care RWJUH Rahway nurses provide every day.
Each DAISY Award Honoree will be recognized at a ceremony on her or his unit and will receive a beautiful certificate, a DAISY Award pin, and a hand-carved stone sculpture entitled A Healer’s Touch. Click here to learn more about the DAISY Foundation.
Additionally, everyone in the unit will celebrate with cinnamon rolls – a favorite of Patrick’s during his illness. The Barnes Family asks that whenever and wherever nurses smell that wonderful cinnamon aroma, they stop for a moment and think about how special they are.
