COVID-19: How You Can Help

The outpouring of support for our caregivers and staff during this pandemic has been extremely moving. The entire RWJBarnabas Health family is humbled by your compassion and grateful for your generosity - we cannot thank you enough.

If you are interested in providing assistance to our front-line staff, here are the ways you can assist right now:

1. Make a contribution to the Emergency Response Fund. This is the best way you can help our clinicians stay safe so they can do their jobs. This fund will help us address the growing needs that are arising as a result of the challenges presented by this crisis and will be used to support our comprehensive emergency care efforts.

N95 masks, surgical masks, and other similar types of masks are in great demand, along with gloves, gowns, goggles or any kind of eye protection, hand sanitizer and liquid soap. If you are able to donate any of these items or have contacts with companies that may be able to help, please contact

Out of concern and safety for our community, we no longer have drop-off boxes at our hospitals.

Small donations can be dropped off at one of three sites, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. (for large donations, please contact

If you are unable to deliver your donation, you may also mail boxes to the above locations. Please indicate contents on the package (e.g., masks, gloves, etc.).

If you have collected materials but are unable to mail or drop them off, please consider contacting your local community first responders including, fire departments, police departments, and EMS rescue squads. We need to keep them safe too.

Please note: For donations of any other type, including food donations for our staff, please contact your local hospital development office:

3. Slow the spread and flatten the curve. Wash your hands and follow social distancing guidelines. For more information on RWJBarnabas Health’s current visitation policy, click here.

4. Donate blood or platelets. Current social distancing measures have resulted in a severe drop in blood and platelet donations. The Centers for Disease Control, Food and Drug Administration, and American Association of Blood Banks all encourage donors to step up in the days and weeks ahead. Please visit to schedule your next blood donation.

5. Cloth Masks. We are accepting donations of cloth masks at this time. Your assistance in sewing masks for our staff will help ensure their safety. These masks will be used to provide extra protection to our professionals providing care outside of our COVID-19 units and allow us to reserve the special personal protective equipment for those at higher risk of exposure. Instructions for sewing masks can be downloaded here. Please see above for drop-off and delivery options.
