The Chivian Dental Center, at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center continues to be New Jersey’s largest volunteer hospital-based dental program, providing a full range of services for adults and children in the greater Newark region. Our Center combines state-of-the-art technology with general and specialty services such as endodontics, periodontics, orthodontics, prosthodontics, oral surgery, oral pathology, pediatric dentistry, restorative dental care for the medically-compromised, and general anesthesia dentistry for the handicapped and disabled. Annually, the Center provides 16,000 outpatient visits and 500 inpatient consultations.

residency programIn addition, NBIMC’s General Practice Residency Program provides education and clinical supervision to 13 dental residents each year. Our program, one of the largest and most diverse in the region, is designed to provide hands-on clinical, didactic, and hospital-based experience at the postdoctoral level. With 60 active attending dentists, 13 dental residents, and 12 additional dental personnel, the department offers its patients comprehensive, skilled, compassionate, and accessible dental health and emergency dental care.

It is the policy of the Newark Beth Israel Medical Center Foundation that 10% of restricted gifts is allocated for unrestricted purposes.
