Our Impact

Home Health Aides

Our team of home health aides is at the core of the care we provide to patients. They assist with a variety of needs such as activities of daily living (i.e. bathing, dressing, shaving), helping with meals, exercising and family education.

Spiritual Support

Our spiritual support department offers services to members of all faiths. The end of life often elicits the need for spiritual or religious expression and with it, a sense of purpose and feelings of warmth and security. Our Hospice approach unites the efforts of medical, nursing and psychological staff with spiritual care, allowing us to treat the whole person, not just individual symptoms.

Nursing Care

Working in tandem with physicians, our nursing team provides medical care to patients. This may include a variety of responsibilities including care plan development, administering medications, monitoring vital signs, managing symptoms or caring for a wound. Nurses are involved in all aspects of patient care, often serving as a liaison between the patient and family and other hospice services.

Emotional Support

In addition to clinical support, our team offers compassion and comfort to patients and families. Through the expertise of our social work department and the resources of a dedicated volunteer team, we are able to offer the emotional care needed during serious illness.

Bear Hugs

Barnabas Health Hospice offers a wonderful service to families that helps preserve the memory of a loved one – the Bear Hugs program. Through the Bear Hugs program, at your request, our team will handcraft a Memory Bear from one of your loved one's garments.

Bereavement Services

Our bereavement program is designed to help you through grief at your own pace. With the support of professional counselors, we can help you navigate through the difficult times and adjust to loss. Support groups, individual counseling and education programs are available.

Volunteer Services

Volunteers are an essential part of the Barnabas Health Hospice program and are vital in our delivery of exceptional end-of-life care to the communities we serve. Our dedicated volunteer team devotes thousands of hours, every year, to offer support and comfort to patients and families at a time when it is needed most.

Music & Memory

Barnabas Health Hospice patients find renewed joy and pleasure in rediscovering the music that matters to them through Music & Memory - a 501c3 non-profit organization that helps provide patients with iPods loaded with music playlists personalized just for them.

Paws for Patients

We believe that the emotional and therapeutic benefits of canine therapy in the hospice setting are immeasurable. Through Paws for Patients, we connect trained hospice volunteers and their certified therapy dogs with patients and families requesting a visit.

Community Outreach

One comment we hear every day from families is that they wish they accessed services earlier. You can help us educate our communities about available options when facing a life-limiting illness and empower them in their decision making by sponsoring a community outreach event.
