Podiatric Medicine and Surgical Residency

at Community Medical Center

A Message from the Program Director

Kerianne Spiess, DPM

The Community Medical Center Podiatric Surgery and Medicine Residency (PMSR/RRA) is a comprehensive three-year training program offering three positions per year. Our aim is to train the next generation of well-rounded, competent foot and ankle surgeons. The faculty is fully dedicated and highly specialized to provide educational opportunities that include comprehensive clinical training as well as a multitude of research opportunities.

The diverse patient population includes routine elective foot and ankle surgery, trauma surgery, limb salvage and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle cases. Our core faculty is eager to share their knowledge with the incoming residents through our didactic curriculum and extensive podiatric medicine and surgical training. Our program will be the building blocks needed for residents to develop into confident, well-balanced physicians of the future. During training, our residents are exposed to a variety of off service rotations as well as electives. There is exposure to surgical workshops routinely throughout the didactic curriculum.

As we join our residents on a path to their future medical and surgical careers, we hope that the relationships they build will be rewarding and lifelong. We are committed to setting forth on this journey together with our residents in order to provide an environment of continuous learning and opportunity available to all of our participants. Providing a surgical and didactic program supported by a group of highly skilled and knowledgeable physicians and a commitment to lifelong learning are our goals and objectives.

Thank you for your interest in the Community Medical Center Podiatric Residency Program.

Sincerely,

Kerianne Spiess, DPM, FACFAS
