Dr. Vinod Nookala, MD

Dr. Vinod Nookala, MD, FACP
Program Director

Dr. Nookala received his training in Internal Medicine at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) in Pennsylvania. He served as a chief resident during the residency and received Best resident of the Year Award. He served as Chairman of Institutional Review Board, Director of Research and Clerkship Director at UPMC. Dr. Nookala serves as a reviewer for several well-known national and international journals. He has a keen interest in the field of medical research and scholarly activity, successfully published numerous peer-reviewed scientific articles, and won grants. He incorporates a special interest in teaching medical students and residents. He was awarded for prestigious Dean’s Special Award for Excellence in Clinical Teaching – Drexel University College of Medicine and Best Teacher of the Year: Penn State College of Medicine. He currently serves as a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Penn State College of Medicine.

Dr. Payam Benson, MD

Dr. Benson received his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. He completed his residency and Fellowship at UMDNJ New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Benson is in clinical practice for more than 10 years. He holds multiple academic appointment with different institutions including Touro Medical School. Dr. Benson has mentored many young physicians in their carriers. He enjoys teaching and has awarded the Educator of the year in 2017.

Dr. Angela Adelizzi, DO

Dr. Angela Adelizzi, DO

Dr. Adelizzi graduated from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her Internal Medicine residency at UMDNJ /School of Osteopathic Medicine, where she was Chief Resident during her final year. She is a Fellow in the American College of Osteopathic Internists. She has served as an associate professor at the University of Pennsylvania Health System. She has been in clinical practice in Toms River since 1992. She has participated as a Principle Investigator in many Pharmaceutical Research studies. She became a Diplomat of the American Board of Obesity Medicine in 2017. She is a strong advocate of the importance of a healthy lifestyle to prevent disease.

Dr. Emad Gobran, MD

Dr. Gobran received his Medical degree from University of Alexandria in 2006, He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Coney Island Hospital, Brooklyn where he was named “The best Resident of the Year” for two consecutive years. Then, he joined Staten Island University Hospital for Nephrology Fellowship.

Dr. Gobran serves as Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Rutgers University, School of Health Professions, Physician Assistant Program.

He has been in clinical practice for over thirteen years. Dr. Gobran is a strong believer in high quality teaching and evidence based medicine

Dr. Nikunjkumar Patel, MD

Dr. Patel graduated from Pramukhswami Medical College with honors in 2010 and is a board-certified internist in Toms River, New Jersey. He has more than 10 years of experience in clinical medicine. He loves to travel around the world , play cricket and pull out the telescope to watch the planets and galaxies.

Dr. Pawa graduated from M.S. Ramaiah Medical College in India and completed her residency training at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, NJ. She has been in practice for more than 25 years.

Dr. Gurpreet Lamba, MD

Dr. Gurpreet Lamba, MD

Dr. Lamba graduated from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College in India. He completed his residency training at New York Medical College at Westchester Medical Center, NY. After the residency training, he pursued his fellowship training in Hematology/Oncology at New York Medical College at Westchester Medical Center, NY. Dr. Lamba is a board-certified physician in hematology and clinical oncology. He is actively involved in clinical and translational research.
