A Better Health Program: Project Healthy Bones - RWJUH Hamilton

Classes will be led by a Community Partner in Health & Wellness.
 

Project Healthy Bones is a strength training, evidence-based exercise program for older adults with or at risk for osteoporosis. The Healthy Bones program was developed to provide older adults with exercises that target the body’s larger muscle groups to improve strength, balance, and flexibility. This is a 24-week curriculum with an interactive educational component on the importance of exercise, nutrition, safety, drug therapy, and lifestyle factors related to osteoporosis. Participants will be part of a research project to validate the health benefits of Project Healthy Bones.

Requirements:

  • Project Healthy Bones, Medical & personal waivers must be signed and submitted.
  • Participants provide their own weights.
