Dan Mitteer, PhD, BCBA-D

Dan Mitteer, PhDDan Mitteer, PhD, BCBA-D, is a senior behavior analyst at the Children's Specialized Hospital - Rutgers University Center for Autism Research, Education, and Services (CSH - RUCARES), where he oversees cases involving the assessment and treatment of severe destructive behavior. In addition, he is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Child Neurology and Neurodevelopmental Disabilities Division in Robert Wood Johnson Medical School of Rutgers University. Dan completed his Master's, PhD, and postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Nebraska Medical Center's Munroe-Meyer Institute, where he also served as a faculty member prior to moving to New Jersey. Dan serves on the editorial board for Behavior Analysis: Research and Practice and as an ad-hoc reviewer for flagship journals such as the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis and the Journal of the Experimental Analysis of Behavior. Dan's primary research interest is in experimentally analyzing and improving caregiver treatment adherence to behavioral interventions, with related projects resulting in funding from the Society for the Advancement of Behavior Analysis and the University of Nebraska Foundation. His current aim is to better refine treatments and trainings to mitigate both the relapse of child and caregiver behavior after clinical discharge.
