Start the New Year off guiltless with these black bean brownies.

Black Bean Brownies


Dry Ingredients:

3 tbsp of coco powder

3 tsp of baking powder

5 tbsp of ground flax seed

6 tbsp of ground oats 

2 tbsp brown sugar 

Wet Ingredients:

29 oz can of black beans

6 oz apple sauce 

2 eggs 

Add ins: 

1 cup chocolate chips

1-2 tbsp Peanut Butter

 ½ cup Almonds or any Nut 


  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Line a 13 by 9 baking tray with parchment paper or baking spray.  
  3. Mix dry ingredients together. 
  4. Drain and rinse black beans. Using the back of a spoon or a food processor to make black beans into a paste. Add the rest of the wet ingredients. 
  5. Add the wet ingredient mixture slowly to the dry ingredient mix, stirring as you go.
  6. Slowly stir in 1 cup of chocolate chips or any other add ins. 
  7. Pour into tray, leveling the mixture. 
  8. Bake for 25-30 mins. 
  9. Let cool and cut into 4 rows and columns to make 16. 
  10. Enjoy!
