Morning Report – A variety of cases are presented to rotating faculty of different specialties

Pediatric Grand Rounds – Weekly local and regional Academic Conference geared toward both Faculty and Residents

Senior Board Review – Learning session focused on board preparation for Pediatric Certification

Skills Lab – Hands On procedural training such as IV placement, Central Line Placement, Suturing as well as Simulation Training in the Sim Lab

Academic Half Day – Four Hours of protected learning time using a systems based curriculum

Institutional Lecture Series – Universal topic lecture for all residents and fellows throughout the medical center

Program Director Meeting – Updates on the program as well as soliciting general feedback for program improvement

PRO Meeting – Resident lunch meeting to discuss overall program experience and offer suggestions for program improvement.

Journal Club – Evidence Based Medicine discussion and assessment of pertinent literature

Morbidity and Mortality – Patient safety conference discussing opportunities for improvement in patient care

Senior Board Review Course – End Of PGY3 year- 3 day intensive internal Board preparation Course

Additional Educational Experiences

Mock Codes – Pediatric Advanced Life Support Training held intermittently for skill maintenance

Mentor Program – Formally assigned Mentor for each Resident Mentee based on resident interest and compatibility

PAMPR (Preparing Applicants Matched Prior to Residency) – Optional virtual learning series in between the Match and PGY-1 orientation on a number of residency related topics

Research/QI – Various opportunities to initiate or get involved in Research and/or Quality/Performance Improvement Projects, with opportunity for a dedicated Research elective
