Donna Bonacorso is the Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President of Patient Care Services at Community Medical Center, an RWJBarnabas Health facility. In her role, she is a member of the Senior Leadership Team and oversees all functions of the Nursing Division.

Before joining Community Medical Center, Mrs. Bonacorso worked primarily at Montefiore Medical Center with multiple years in Critical Care, Emergency, Psychiatry and Education.

Mrs. Bonacorso joined Community Medical Center in 2002 as the Director of Patient Care for the Intensive Care Units. She then transitioned to a leadership role for the Emergency Department, and expanded Community Medical Center’s Cardiovascular and Neurological Services. Throughout her career at Community Medical Center, she had held multiple Nurse Executive positions and driven high quality patient care. In 2016, Mrs. Bonacorso accepted the responsibility of Chief Nursing Officer.

Mrs. Bonacorso received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Lehman College in 1982 in New York followed by a Master of Science in Nursing from Pace University in New York in 1989. She has earned numerous certifications, including CCRN from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, Certified Emergency Nurse, and Clinical Nurse Specialist in Psychiatry, and has been recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Board Certified Nurse Executive, Advanced, since 2007.

Mrs. Bonacorso is proud to be the leader of the nursing team at Community Medical Center. Under her tutelage, the Nursing Division earns advanced degrees and specialty certifications, offers multiple podium and poster presentations at local and national conferences, publishes research, and provide clinical outreach and education throughout the community. The launch of the Nurse Residency Program in August 2018 has brought graduate nurses to our professional nursing team, guiding the next generation of nurses as they transition from the classroom to the bedside. The program has earned accreditation from the American Nursing Credentialing Center for its excellence.
