Trinitas Regional Medical Center

The Residents Program at Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth, NJ is sponsored by Rutgers Health with ACGME programs in Medicine and Psychiatry, as well as a Podiatry residency. Trinitas residencies combine the family feeling and individual attention of a smaller community hospital program with the resources of a large system that encompasses both Rutgers Medical Schools.

General Information

Trinitas Regional Medical Center is offering an accredited PMSRA three-year Program. Two positions are offered for each level. The program started in July, 2009. Trinitas Regional Medical Center is located in Elizabeth NJ, which is conveniently located 20 miles from New York City. The main advantage of training in Elizabeth is our patient population, which is very diverse.

Our Podiatric Residency Program gives individuals the opportunity to learn in an innovative, educational environment, knowing each person will continue to help others in their future. Working with experts in the field of Podiatry the vast experience they need to be successful contributors to the future of Podiatry.

Our comprehensive training program provides rigorous and comprehensive instruction in many disciplines, in a challenging, yet supportive, atmosphere.

One of the greatest strengths of our program is that all of the clinical experiences are available on site at Trinitas, including full exposure to pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative patient management.

Trinitas residents also have clinical rotations at the Trinitas Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine. Our residents receive additional surgical training from affiliated hospitals and surgical centers.

Georgios Kotzias, DPM, FACFAS
Program Director

Dr. Kotzias holds a degree in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in 2014. He completed his residency here at Trinitas Regional Medical Center in 2017.

After he completed his residency, he joined a private practice here in Elizabeth, NJ and has been an active faculty member since then. Dr. Kotzias has been an integral asset to the Podiatry Program at Trinitas as he provides the best care to patients, working side by side by other departments. Dr. Kotzias is also very active with the Trinitas Wound Care Center.

He is Boarded both with the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and American Board of Podiatric Medicine.

PGY II – $70,988
PGY III – $74,982
PGY IV – $79,361
