Salary

As a PGY-1 the dental residents receive the same salary as all other Robert Wood Johnson residents of the same post graduate status

Holidays

Members of the dental house staff are entitled to 7 (seven) paid holidays to be taken on the day the holiday is celebrated. Paid Holidays are:

  • New Year’s Day
  • Christmas Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Labor Day
  • Independence Day
  • Memorial Day
  • President’s Day

Each dental resident will be required to take call on at least one of the Aforementioned holidays

Sick Days

Sick leave with pay will be granted for bonafide accident or illness to a maximum of 6 days

Vacation

The dental house staff is entitled to two (2) weeks or ten working days of vacation, which may be granted with approval of the Dental Program Director within the first 2 weeks of residency. No two residents will be granted vacation time concurrently. No vacation time will be granted during the month of June.

Conference Time

The Department of Dentistry allows each dental resident a maximum of three (3) days to be used for advanced education courses at a maximum total cost of $200.00 for each resident. Conference time may be granted at the discretion of the Dental Program Director. A brief report of the course is to be handed in to the Program Director upon return and a brief presentation to the other residents is required.

Meal Cards

Dental residents are provided with lunch voucher cards used in the hospital cafeteria for each day of work totaling $1200.00 for the year.

Insurance Coverage

Hospitalization insurance coverage is provided without cost to the residents and their immediate families. Other benefits are provided in accordance with the Hospital’s group coverage plans

  • The Hospital provides professional liability insurance to cover liabilities incurred by the residents while performing their assigned duties.
