Exploring the Social Drivers of Health: Food Insecurity Panel Discussion (in-person)

Register Now

The social drivers of health are the conditions in which people are born, live, work, learn, and play, and which significantly influence their health outcomes. These non-clinical factors, such as access to nutritious food, reliable transportation, and quality housing, can affect a wide range of health risks and outcomes, including mental and physical health. Research suggest that up to 80% of an individual’s health outcomes are influenced by these social drivers, making them a critical contributor to overall health and well-being. Join Dr. Kenneth Granet, FACP, Chief Medical Officer of Monmouth Medical Center, as he moderates a panel including Janelle Garcia, PhD, MCHES, Vice President of Community Impact at Fulfill, Azcuena Rivero, SNAP Navigator at Monmouth Medical Center, and Lori Snable, RD, Clinical Nutrition Manager at Monmouth Medical Center. We will define and discuss food insecurity, learn about how food access impacts health outcomes, and receive information on the local supports that are available to our community to help address food insecurity.
