An Advance Directive is a legal document that can communicate your preferences and decisions for future medical care especially if you become unable to make decisions for yourself. When blood transfusions are not an option in your care, advance directives specific to declining blood transfusion provide the greatest protection to ensure your wishes are respected and carried out. The bloodless medicine team invites you to an Advance Directive workshop which will include:
- reviewing the benefits of having an advance directive
- proper completion of an advance directive
- review of your current advance directive*
- overview of non-blood treatment options
