Shobi Venkatachalam, MD
- Hematology | Medical Oncology
Bio:
I am committed to providing comprehensive cancer care to my patients, as cancer affects not just the body, but also the mind, spirit, and social well-being of a person. I would work in a multidisciplinary fashion with pathologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists and palliative care teams to offer my patients a very personalized cancer care in a warm and compassionate environment. In addition to clinical care, I am part of clinical trials to help develop new treatments, improve existing treatments and advance cancer care.
I completed my Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Prior to that I received my medical degree from Thanjavur Medical College, Tamil Nadu, India and completed my internal medicine residency from Nazareth Hospital, Trinity Health, Philadelphia, PA.
I am excited to be part of the Steeplechase team that has a strong sense of commitment towards the patient community!
Philosophy of Care:
My goal as an oncologist is to demonstrate genuine care, acknowledge my patient's fears, honor my patient's values and deliver understandable information. I would also strive to stay abreast of the latest research and clinical guidelines to provide the most effective and appropriate treatments for my patients.
