I have been fortunate in being able to combine my love for engineering and innovation with clinical practice; my skill with advanced tools, and a mindset for operational and quality improvement. My career advancement in the New York/New Jersey Region has gained me a reputation for tackling difficult cases with compassion and excellent outcomes as evidenced not only in regional awards and recognition, but in strong referral practices and a loyal patient following. I am an educator with an unwavering commitment to our trainees, mentees and peers to help them achieve their potential and solve complex challenges.

As a surgeon I am always responsible for providing high quality care for my patients. As the Surgical Quality Officer for Newark Beth Israel, I hope to bring the lessons learned from evidence, my practice and my work at prior Nationally Recognized medical systems to RWJBarnabas; to my department and to my colleagues and collaborators. My goal is to help our health system achieve the highest quality by reducing harm and adhering to the principles of a High Reliability Organization.

I enjoy taking care of many common illnesses that affect our digestive health such as problems of indigestion, inflammation and cancer that can affect our organs including the gallbladder, pancreas, liver spleen, esophagus, stomach and colon. I enjoy repairing hernias to help restore the health of our core abdominal muscles. I help people with disorders that can cause heartburn, difficulty swallowing and slow stomach emptying (gastroparesis). I use every tool available including robotics, laparoscopy, endoscopy and open surgery to achieve the fastest possible healing time for my patients.
