    Dr. Kenneth Yan is a fellowship trained laryngologist, specializing in voice, airway and swallowing disorders. He completed Otolaryngology residency training at the University of Chicago Medicine and advanced fellowship training in laryngology at the UCLA Voice Center in Los Angeles, CA. His expertise lies in the management of voice problems such as vocal cord paralysis, vocal cord polyps and cysts, recurrent respiratory papillomatosis, and laryngeal cancer. In addition, Dr. Yan enjoys treating patients with spasmodic dysphonia and can offer surgical options to his patients such as the selective laryngeal adductor denervation-reinnervation (SLAD-R), which was pioneered by his mentor at UCLA. Dr. Yan is also highly trained in the care of patients with airway and breathing disorders such as subglottic stenosis and posterior glottic scar and swallowing problems such as Zenker's diverticula and swallowing issues after head and neck radiation or spine surgery. As a MD/PhD, a dual doctorate degree for physician-scientists, Dr. Yan is also an active researcher who is highly published in peer-reviewed journals, with an interest in the upper airway microbiome and its relationship to early laryngeal cancer and airway stenosis.
