Dr. Salemi performs all forms of adult cardiac surgery with a particular interest in valvular heart disease. An international leader in structural heart disease, he has been the principal investigator for numerous clinical trials and has served on the case review board for the Partner Trial for nearly a decade. He has individually performed more than 2,000 Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) procedures and has proctored physicians at over 50 centers across the world. He is developing techniques to enhance Transcatheter Mitral Valve Replacement and is a thought leader who sits on numerous cardiac surgical boards.
Dr. Salemi is an accomplished researcher, sits on the editorial boards of more the ten professional journals, and continues to push boundaries of clinical care standards for all areas of cardiac surgery. He will see patients at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, Saint Barnabas Medical Center and Jersey City Medical Center.
