Gastroenterology and Nutrition

The Division of Gastroenterology offers complete diagnostic testing, consultation, treatment and follow-up for gastrointestinal and nutritional disorders for newborns and children through 18 years of age. Physicians who are board certified in pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology diagnose and treat disorders including inflammatory bowel disease, chronic abdominal pain, feeding problems, acute and chronic liver disease, chronic constipation, and diarrhea. One of the few facilities in New Jersey to provide pre- and post-liver transplant care, the Division of Gastroenterology also provides:

  • Availability to state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment for children of all sizes to perform endoscopies and other diagnostic procedures
  • Breath testing to diagnose lactose intolerance
  • Use of the hospital’s program of conscious sedation during any tests that may cause pain or discomfort
