Long Branch, NJ, November 10, 2022 — Approximately 100 guests recently gathered at the Triumph Brewery in Red Bank to “toast” the health of children in the community at Monmouth Medical Center’s (MMC) annual A Toast to Children’s Health event.

Due to limitations during the pandemic, the event, which raised more than $100,000 in support of pediatric services at MMC’s Unterberg Children’s Hospital, was held in person for the first time since 2019. It also paid tribute to MMC’s immediate past chair of Pediatrics Dr. Meg Fisher, who currently serves as Special Advisor to the Commissioner of Health and Medical Director of Clinical & Academic Excellence at MMC.

“It’s been a couple of years now since we’ve been able to gather and actually ‘toast’ to children’s health, but during these past two years, the community’s support has stayed strong,” said Caitlin Olson, Regional Vice President of Development. “During the pandemic, we introduced a series called Meg Talk featuring our very own Dr. Meg Fisher, and I want to thank her and her colleagues for providing us with an educational forum that provided crucial information during such unprecedented times.”

Eric Carney, President and CEO of MMC and Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus, noted that throughout her 20-year career at MMC, Dr. Fisher was a true friend and trusted advisor to the hospital and medical staff, as well as the community.

“A treasured ambassador for MMC, Dr. Fisher has brought an unparalleled level of enthusiasm and unwavering support for everything we do and has always been exceedingly generous in sharing her time and expertise with our community,” he said. “During her tenure, Monmouth Medical Center became licensed in 2006 by New Jersey as an official children’s hospital for Monmouth and Ocean counties, and under her leadership, The Unterberg Children’s Hospital expanded the spectrum of our widely recognized services for children.”

The evening also featured an update by MMC’s Chair of Pediatrics Dr. Jonathan Teitelbaum on the pediatric subspecialty services offered at MMC’s Anne Vogel Family Care & Wellness Center, which opened this past spring at the Monmouth Mall in Eatontown.

A Toast to Children’s Health is presented by MMC’s Children’s Hospital Leadership Council, which is led by a group of individuals who serve as ambassadors for the hospital through education and local events that supports Monmouth Medical Center’s commitment to pediatric excellence. Their mission is to educate the community about services available at the hospital, develop philanthropic relationships and promote the health and wellness of children in the community.

“A healthy community starts with the health of our children, and I want to thank the Children’s Hospital Leadership Council and event chair Meghan Del Priore for all of their hard work on behalf of The Unterberg Children’s Hospital,” Carney said. “Philanthropy is a critical part of making sure the care we give to the children in our community continues to be the best and most advanced, and we are so thankful to them for investing in our future, so that we can make the future of our community’s children better.”
