creamy hummusHummus is a great snack for any time of the day and makes for a great appetizer or as part of a charcuterie board when hosting guests. Follow this easy recipe to liven up your next snack time!

Ingredients

1 15oz. can garbanzo beans (chickpeas)
1 clove fresh garlic, or 1 tsp. minced garlic
¼ c lemon juice, or the juice of ½ a fresh lemon
2 Tbsp Tahini (sesame paste)
2 Tbsp olive oil 

Directions

  1. Drain the chickpeas and retain the fluid in a separate bowl.
  2. Put chickpeas, garlic and Tahini in a food processor and begin to blend. You may also use a blender, or mash by hand with a vegetable masher.
  3. When the chickpeas start to become mashed, add lemon juice and olive oil.
  4. Continue to blend until smooth.
  5. If necessary, add retained fluid from can or extra water, oil or lemon juice if you prefer a thinner consistency.
