
Ingredients
1 15-oz. can garbanzo beans (chickpeas)1 clove fresh garlic, or 1 tsp. minced garlic
1/4 cup lemon juice, or the juice of 1/2 fresh lemon
2 Tbsp Tahini (sesame paste)
2 Tbsp olive oil
Directions
- Drain the garbanzo beans and retain the fluid in a separate bowl.
- Put garbanzo beans, garlic and Tahini in a food processor and begin to blend. You may also use a blender, or mash by hand with a vegetable masher.
- When the garbanzo beans start to become mashed, add lemon juice and olive oil.
- Continue to blend until smooth.
- If necessary, add retained fluid from garbanzo beans, or extra water, oil or lemon juice, if you prefer a thinner consistency.
Serving Information
1/4 cupServes as a dip or a vegetarian entree with your choice of: pita/pita chips, corn chips or pretzels; raw vegetables; and pickles or olives. Use your imagination!
