The event sponsored by Amerigroup Nets Over $265,000
On Tuesday, October 27, 2020, Trinitas Health Foundation hosted its 3rd Annual “Peace of Mind” Event. While guests were not able to gather in person this year, all guests gathered virtually on Zoom for an informative discussion on easing the behavioral health stigma. Special guests included Mental Health Advocate, Zak Williams (son of actor and comedian Robin Williams) and Award Winning Journalist Jack Ford. Thanks to Amerigroup, An Anthem Company, the philanthropist sponsor, many guests, sponsors and supporters, helped the event net more than $265,000!
More than 120 guests enjoyed a private virtual discussion with Zak Williams and Jack Ford as he discussed his roles as a mental health advocate and business entrepreneur and opened up about his father, Robin Williams, and his struggles with mental health, the impact he left in this world and how greatly he is missed.
Nadine Brechner, Chief Development Officer of Trinitas Health Foundation: “We are very fortunate that Amerigroup was our lead sponsor of Peace of Mind event this year. Amerigroup insures many of our patients and they are very well-known for their strong commitment to low income families. We partner with Amerigroup to make sure that our patients and Amerigroup members get the care that they need and deserve. Thank you Amerigroup for your support.”
Amerigroup’s Medicaid Health Plan President, Teresa Hursey, says, “On behalf of myself and all my colleagues at Amerigroup New Jersey, it was an honor to be a part of Trinitas’ Peace of Mind event. We are incredibly appreciative of Trinitas for hosting a discussion on behavioral health. Approximately 1 in 5 Americans live with mental illness, and an ongoing event such as the pandemic can cause people to feel anxiety, even when they normally don’t. That is why now it is as important as ever to remove stigma associated with behavioral health and ensure people are getting the care and support they need.”
