John Gantner, CEO and President of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital

Hello. I am John Gantner, President and CEO of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. I am pleased to let you know that Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital has resumed normal operations and services following our COVID-19 pandemic response. On behalf of our team members and medical staff, welcome back.

I want you to know that our hospital has gone above and beyond all recommendations by the Centers for Disease Control and other national and regional experts to ensure that you have a safe healing experience. I also believe that it is important you to hear directly from the people who are working hard every day to make sure that Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital is safe and ready for you.

Maureen Bueno, PhD, RN, Senior Vice President, Organizational Effectiveness

We use advanced technology to deep clean and disinfect our facility to ensure the environment is safe for you and your loved ones. After we detail clean with a powerful disinfectant, we activate an ultraviolet light-emitting robot called Tru-D. That’s short for ”total room ultraviolet disinfection." We also use DAZO Fluorescent Marking Gel to identify the presence of germs, and we use the SystemSURE Plus cleaning verification process to measure environmental hygiene to ensure that all surfaces are properly cleaned.

Lydia Stockman, MHA, RN, FACHE, Senior Vice President, Clinical Operations

Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital has launched a thorough screening and testing process to create a safe environment for all patients and providers within our facility. We were the first hospital in New Jersey to offer COVID antibody and COVID PCR testing to all of our employees and physicians as part of the Rutgers study to better understand the impact on hospital workers.

Temperature checks and symptom screenings are performed for all patients before entering our facility. All patients who are scheduled to have surgery or invasive procedures are tested for COVID-19 at our recently open testing area prior to their procedures.

Ann Lo Basso, DNP, RN, NE-BC, Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer

Our five-time Magnet Award-winning nursing team focuses diligently on quality and safety throughout your hospital stay. We’re ready to provide exceptional care to you and your loved ones.

Stanley Trooskin, MD, Chief Medical Officer

The fact is that as an academic health center, we never stop working to meet New Jersey’s health care needs. During the peak of our surge of COVID-19 patients, our cardiac surgery team successfully performed two heart transplants, our comprehensive stroke center team revived brains, and our National Cancer Institute-designated cancer program continued to care for patients.
