Jessica H Partners for Development

“We would highly recommend working with the EAP to improve dynamics on your team, provide support to leaders and team members that may be struggling.”

The RWJBarnabas Health Pharmacy Residency Leadership forum was designed as a training course for new pharmacist practitioners that would become future leaders in the profession. The program allowed new practitioners to learn about various leadership, management and personal development topics. From the outset of the program the Pharmacy Residency Leadership Forum partnered with the Employee Assistance Program to provide information about EAP as well as various other resources that the program’s providers developed to meet the needs of the pharmacy residents. Topics reviewed were managing emotions, burnout, prioritizing self-care and wellness, productive conversations and strategies for work life integration. Tom and the EAP has worked with us to create content that is relevant to our group for their acute personal and professional situations as well as content that will stay with them for the long term. Graduates of the program have shared that they have utilized EAP services because of their exposure to the program at the forum and didn’t realize such valuable tools are available. As program leaders we have partnered with the EAP to assist individuals that were struggling both personally and professionally. With private targeted interventions these individuals have since flourished and developed to reach their potential, developing resilience and grit with the skilled guidance of providers in the EAP. We would highly recommend working with the EAP to improve dynamics on your team, provide support to leaders and team members that may be struggling, and increase awareness of the EAP program while minimizing the stigma that may be associated with using this service.
