After her treatment, Karen wanted to help others heal through art.
Karen Haake was frightened after receiving a cervical cancer diagnosis,
but she believed that her experience would be a positive one. While getting
treatment at the Steeplechase Cancer Center at Robert Wood Johnson University
Hospital Somerset, Karen used art therapy to paint the pain away. After
her treatment, she wanted to help others heal through art. Now Karen teaches
a watercolor painting class at Steeplechase for current cancer patients
and patients in remission.
