Medical Laboratory Science Program

The John A. Mihok Medical Laboratory Science Program (MLS) at Monmouth Medical Center (MMC) is a year-long comprehensive experiential learning experience. The program starts each year during the last week of August and includes six (6) months of didactic (classroom) instruction and practical exercises in student lab followed by six (6) months of clinical laboratory rotations.

Classes are taught by Educators, MMC Lab Managers and Supervisors, Resident and Staff Physicians, Pathologists, and Medical Laboratory Scientists. Many hold graduate degrees and/or certifications in their specialty and all have a sincere desire to teach and develop competent Medical Laboratory Scientists.

The program is well established: having started in 1954, it has successfully trained over 200 students.

Class capacity: 11 students

Term: Full-time, August to July
