Application Process

How to Apply to the CBMC/Rutgers-NJMS OBGYN Residency Program

The Residency Program matches ten (10) applicants per year from over 700 applicants. Applications are accepted only through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Applications should be submitted to the Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center Program. A completed application includes: an official copy of USMLE or COMLEX scores, an official medical school transcript, a Dean’s letter, and 2-3 letters of recommendation from faculty members familiar with the applicant’s performance. Additionally, foreign graduates must submit a valid ECFMG certificate. It should be noted that our residency does not sponsor Visa applicants.

The deadline for application submission is November 1, 2020. Candidates’ final status will be posted in ERAS no later than 12/23/20. Formal interviews are held from November through January. Please note that for the 2020-21 interview season, all interviews will be virtual.

The Department of Graduate Medical Education is responsible for setting policy relevant to application for residency training positions. Programs must not discriminate with regard to sex, race, age, religion, color, national origin, disability or veteran status.
