Hereditary Oncology Prevention and Education (HOPE) Program
The Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey's Hereditary Oncology Prevention and Education (HOPE) Program provides comprehensive genetic counseling and cancer risk assessment for individuals with a personal and/or family history of cancer. The HOPE Program is now available to patients on-site at the Steeplechase Cancer Center, RWJ University Hospital at Somerset, in partnership with Rutgers Cancer Institute.
Cancer genetic counseling helps individuals and families:
Recognize the role family history plays in cancer risk.
Learn more about their personal cancer risk.
Realize when genetic testing is appropriate.
Understand medical options available to manage cancer risk.
Choose individually appropriate medical strategies.
