Latest Advances in Robotic-Assisted Surgery

Community Medical Center will sponsor a special program called “Latest Advances in Surgery – Combining Technology with the Skill of a Surgeon’s Hand” on Wednesday, September 26 at The Captain’s Inn, 304 E. Lacey Road, Forked River, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

This FREE dinner program will feature three highly skilled surgeons who perform surgery utilizing robotic techniques including Steven Lowry, MD, General and Colon Surgery, John Sutherland, MD, Gynecologic Surgery and Christopher Passariello, MD, Orthopedic Surgery.

The physicians will discuss how robotic surgery is transforming the surgical experience and benefiting patients. Community Medical Center has two da Vinci robots used for colorectal, general, gynecologic, gynecologic oncology, thoracic and urologic surgical procedures. In addition, orthopedic surgeons are using the Mako Robotic Arm-Assisted Joint Replacement System for total and partial knee replacement as well as hip replacement surgery.

Community Medical Center has achieved accreditation as a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery by Surgical Review Corporation (SRC). A Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery accreditation distinguishes Community Medical Center from other facilities by providing the highest quality of care to its patients as determined by an independent, external process of evaluation.

The program is free, but seating is limited and pre-registration is required by calling 1.888.724.7123. A light dinner will be served.
