The session explains parents’ rights and roles at each stage of the special education process, emphasizing collaboration between families and schools to support student success. The workshop also breaks down the differences between Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans, including who qualifies for each, what supports and accommodations they provide, and how they are developed and reviewed. Parents will gain practical guidance on reading plans, preparing for meetings, advocating effectively for their child, and knowing what to do if concerns arise.
