This event takes place at Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus 600 River Avenue in Lakewood, Geriatrics Institute Conference Room. Summertime means being outside and soaking up the warm sun, but that can also result in skin damage or skin cancer if not done safely. According to the American Academy of Dermatology Association, approximately 9,500 people in the United States are diagnosed with skin cancer every day. Skin cancer is not only the most common cancer in the United States, but is also the most preventable. Join our health educators to discuss the causes of skin cancer, major risk factors, how to practice safe sun behaviors, how to perform a self-exam, and other information to help protect us against UV Rays.
