Diabetes Self-Management Class (Virtual and In-Person at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center)

The Diabetes Self-Management Class is taught by certified diabetes care and education specialists, nurses and nutritionists from The Center for Diabetes and Prevention. It includes four two-hour classes plus a one-hour follow-up class. Topics covered include Diabetes disease process, nutritional management, physical activity, medications, monitoring, prevention, detection, and treatment of acute and chronic complications, goal setting and problem solving, and psychosocial adjustment.
Day classes will be held in person on Wednesdays

- Location: Barnabas Health Ambulatory Care Center, 200 South Orange Avenue, Livingston.
Evening classes will be held virtually on Zoom on Wednesdays

- Registrants will be sent an invite to their email addresses. The invite will start 15 to 30 minutes before the class start time depending upon class size to allow participants to enable technology.
A fee applies and pre-registration is required by calling 973-322-7007. We participate with insurance plans. Medicare reimbursement is also accepted.
Please note, in person diabetes education and medical nutrition therapy is offered individually.
