Physician Networking Event

Featured Speaker: Russell C. Langan, MD, FACS, FSSOAssociate Chief Surgical Officer for System Integration and Quality and Director of Surgical Oncology, Northern Region, RWJBarnabas Health and Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey

Dr. Langan will share information regarding CBMC’s innovative approach to treating gastrointestinal cancer which includes the region’s first Pancreatic Cyst Surveillance Program. He will also discuss the benefits our partnership with Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, the state’s only NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, provides our patients.

Pancreatic Cyst Surveillance Program
As a high-volume pancreatic cancer center, Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center partnered with Eon, a health care technology company, to create a first of its kind digital platform to identify, track, follow and monitor patients with pancreatic cysts. Using a new cloud-based system, the program automatically highlights patients when incidental scans, such as an MRI, CT scan or ultrasound, discover pancreatic cysts, so at-risk people can be contacted for potential follow-up. Patients who enroll in the program are followed by a pancreatic expert who will stratify and assess the risk of the cyst becoming cancerous.

RSVP is requested by April 15.
