Coping with Loss and Handling the Holidays - Barnabas Health Hospice
Topics to be discussed inclde managing significant dates, coping approaches, the bereavement timeline, grief responses and thoughts for the holidays.
After a loved one has passed away, individuals may experience a variety
of emotions. Some may begin to have anxiety, worried that they will not
be able to manage their daily routines. Others speak of a sense of guilt,
wondering if they could have done more for their loved one, said something
different or made better decisions. We understand that grief is a process
that is difficult to experience alone. At some point, you may find yourself
asking the question, “Why can’t I get over it?” The
answer is —everyone mourns differently and at different
rates. The grieving process has no timetable.
Our bereavement groups are designed to help you through grief at your
own pace. Facilitated by experienced, licensed clinicians the groups provide
a safe environment where you can share your story with others who are
grieving, and gain support as you navigate this difficult time and adjust
to your loss.
