Dr. Wing Tai Kong is a board-certified pulmonologist and critical care physician. He attended SUNY – Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York and obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree. He then completed his Internal Medicine residency at Danbury Hospital, affiliated with Yale University. Subsequently, he completed his fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Kong maintains triple board certifications through the American Board of Internal Medicine, including Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Kong specializes in treating a wide range of pulmonary and critical care conditions, with particular clinical interests in Severe Refractory Asthma, Severe Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD), Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), and Critical Care Ultrasound. Dr. Kong is a member of both the national American Thoracic Society and the American College of Chest Physicians. He has been previously involved in hospital committees such as a Thoracic Tumor Board, Critical Care Committee, COPD Task Force Committee, and Endoscopy Committee. Dr. Kong maintains an active interest in clinical research and medical education. He has published peer-reviewed articles on topics including hypersensitivity pneumonitis, COVID-19 mechanical ventilation, and COPD care management. His research has been presented at national conferences including the American College of Chest Physicians meetings. He also contributes to medical education and has given lectures on lung cancer diagnosis, pleural effusions, hypersensitivity pneumonitis, and asthma management. Dr. Kong is fluent in English and Cantonese. |
