    Prior to joining RWJ Barnabas at NBIMC, Dr. Vincent Valentine was a Professor of Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), and the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston UTMB). He was also the Medical Director of Lung Transplantation and Advanced Lung Disease Programs at UAB, UTMB, and Ochsner Health in New Orleans. In addition, he held faculty appointments at The Methodist and Memorial Hermann Hospitals in Houston, and LSU in New Orleans.

    He completed his specialty training in Pulmonary, Critical Care Medicine, and Heart and Lung Transplantation at Stanford University and has been caring for patients in Lung Transplantation, Advanced Lung Diseases, Pulmonary, and Critical Care Medicine for over 30 years. Dr. Valentine remains current in many Medical Societies; in particular, he has been a well-respected and active member of the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT) and its committees. He served as the Editor-in-Chief of the high profile ISHLT Links Newsletter from 2011-2018 and has been a reviewer for many Journals (in both Lung Transplantation and Pulmonary and Critical Care). Dr. Valentine has also received many accolades and awards during his studies and career.

    Dr. Valentine has collaborated with many specialists across the globe in different multi-center trials. He is well published with hundreds of abstracts, peer-reviewed articles, and chapters in essentially all aspects of Lung Transplantation and Advanced Lung Diseases.
