Vignesh T. Packiam, MD
- Urology
I have expertise in treating genitourinary malignancies including bladder, prostate, kidney, and testicular cancer, and am experienced in both complex open and robotic surgery. Outcomes for urologic cancers are optimized by skill and experience, and I am grateful for the training and mentorship that allow me to bring this to my patients.
I am passionate about educating patients on all available treatment options so they can make the best personalized decisions. I have a particular interest in bladder cancer, a disease that can be aggressive and significantly impact quality of life. It brings me great satisfaction to help patients with this diagnosis. I strongly support and participate in patient-centered advocacy groups such as the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network and have always prioritized a patient-focused treatment approach.
I believe the best way to bring new treatments forward is through innovation from practicing physicians. My research has focused on developing and implementing novel therapies for bladder cancer, including efforts to improve the safety and effectiveness of treatments for non-muscle invasive disease.
I am also actively involved in national cancer societies and contribute as a reviewer for leading urology journals. In addition to my clinical practice, I remain committed to advancing care through research and education.
