Dr. Sukriti Bansal completed a fellowship in Bariatrics, Foregut, and Minimally Invasive/Advanced GI Surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University. During her fellowship she gained advanced exposure to cutting edge robotic surgery techniques as well as complex laparoscopic surgery in the treatment of GI and esophageal disease. Dr. Bansal completed her general surgery residency at the Baylor College of Medicine, gaining experience in complex hernia management, endocrine surgery, and abdominal surgery. Throughout her training in fellowship, residency, and medical school, she performed research primarily focused on expanding healthcare delivery to diverse patient populations locally and globally. She received her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, where she served in multiple leadership positions focused on community outreach and health in Dallas.
Dr. Bansal is a board-certified and fellowship trained general surgeon with expertise in minimally invasive and robotic surgery, bariatric surgery, and GI surgery. In addition to her clinical work, she enjoys teaching residents and medical students in the operating room, clinic, and classroom. She has served as a mentor to multiple medical students interested in surgery. She has published numerous research articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented her research at national and international meetings. She is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons, the Association of Women Surgeons, and the Society of Asian Academic Surgeons.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. Her hobbies include running, weightlifting, reading, baking, and exploring the outdoors.
