Dr. Cairone joins Mercer-Bucks Orthopedics after 9 years in private practice in Bucks County. He is board-certified in Orthopedic surgery and received fellowship training in spine surgery from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Cairone was born is Horsham. PA and attended Hatboro-Horsham High school, where he was recently inducted into the Hall of Fame. He then went on to Lycoming College, where he majored in Biology and minored in Psychology. He earned Academic All American honors as a four year starter in soccer and was selected all Middle Atlantic Conference in his senior year. He then spent the next nine years at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine where he attended medical school, internship and orthopedic surgical residency. He presently serves as an Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at PCOM. Over the last 10 years Dr. Cairone has served in several capacities for the American Osteopathic Association of Orthopedic Surgeons (AOAO). He has served as the Vice- President and President of the spine sub section as well as giving several lectures each year. This work culminated in Dr. Cairone being inducted as a Fellow of the AOAO in 2012. Dr. Cairone’s main area of orthopedic interest is minimally invasive lumbar fusion surgery, the surgical treatment of herniated discs, cervical disc replacement surgery, fracture surgery, and arthroscopy. Dr. Cairone lives in Wrightstown, PA with his wife and 3 daughters. He serves on the board for Council Rock United Soccer Association and is also been appointed as the director of injury prevention. He also coaches two teams for the soccer club. In addition, Dr. Cairone is a professional fishing boat captain. He gained his OUPV license in 2003 and frequently travels 90 miles offshore looking for tuna, marlin and sharks
