Affiliations Dr. Badalamenti’s passion for dermatology began at the internationally renowned Thomas Jefferson Medical College Dermatology Research Center, where she conducted groundbreaking research under Dr. Jouni Uitto alongside over 60 international collaborators. Her work on the molecular basis of skin diseases was published in scientific journals and earned her a PhD in Molecular Medicine.
After completing her MD-PhD, she trained at Pennsylvania Hospital, the nation’s first hospital, followed by a dermatology residency at the University of Miami, one of the country’s largest and most rigorous programs, including inpatient dermatology.
Returning to Essex County, NJ, Dr. Badalamenti joined the state’s oldest dermatology partnership, where she managed complex cases and remained closely connected to Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, continuing her teaching and academic involvement. As an early adopter of electronic health records, she later founded her own tech-forward private practice focused on evidence-based, patient-centered care.
In 2012, she joined Summit Medical Group, collaborating with oncology specialists to manage dermatologic complications from novel cancer therapies. This led to her specialization in Supportive Oncodermatology, an emerging field addressing skin toxicities in cancer patients.
Today, Dr. Badalamenti practices at RWJBarnabas Health in partnership with Rutgers Cancer Institute—the only NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in New Jersey—where she provides advanced dermatologic care integrated with cutting-edge cancer treatment.
